Best Theros: Beyond Death cards worth money

Wizards of the Coast officially released the Magic: The Gathering set, Theros: Beyond Death, on Jan. 24, 2020. The set features a number of singles that have retained their value, and some that have increased over time.

Several months after the release of THB, the COVID-19 pandemic struck, shutting down tabletop events while the price of most Magic cards plummeted. With the release of Zendikar Rising in the fall of 2020, and Kaldheim (KHM) in 2021, a number of THB cards experienced a revival in price and gameplay across multiple Magic formats.

A couple of the THB booster fun versions are worth over $100, while others are priced between $50 and $100. And several regular versions are still worth over $10.

From powerful elder giants to gods and nymphs, here are the THB cards still worth money, according to MTGGoldfish, Card Kingdom, and MTGStocks.

Kroxa, Titan of Death’s Hunger

Kroxa, Titan of Death’s Hunger initially spiked at the start of 2020, climbing over 100 percent in value over the course of a week. Leading up to the 2021 Standard rotation, Kroxa, Titan of Death’s Hunger fell in price for the first time.

The extended-art foil version of Kroxa, Titan of Death’s Hunger is valued at just over $100 while the non-foil version is priced at $36. There is a Secret Lair foil version of the elder giant valued at $68, and the other Showcase versions are priced between $20 and $35. The regular version of Kroxa, Titan of Death’s Hunger is worth around $25.

Uro, Titan of Nature’s Wrath

Uro, Titan of Nature’s Wrath was banned from the Standard Magic format in 2020. The elder giant was hit with another ban, removing it from the MTG Modern and Pioneer formats. The bans hurt some versions of Uro, but not all.

An extended-art foil version of Uro, Titan of Nature’s Wrath is worth around $100, and a Secret Lair foil version of the elder giant is valued at around $43. Other Showcase versions are priced between $10 and $30. And the THB regular version of Uro, Titan of Nature’s Wrath is priced around $13.

Shadowspear

Shadowspear is a legendary Artifact Equipment that is seeing gameplay within the Modern format. The extended-art foil version of the THB card is priced around $100 while the non-foil is worth around $40. Regular foil and pre-release foil promos are worth around $30. The regular version of Shadowspear is priced around $23.

Nyxbloom Ancient

Nyxbloom Ancient is most popular within the Commander format. The elementals extended-art foil version is worth around $100 while the non-foil is priced at $31. Other booster fun versions are worth around $25 and the prerelease foil promo is valued at $27. The regular version of Nyxbloom Ancient is worth around $22.

Thassa’s Oracle

Thassa’s Oracle is played in a variety of MTG formats, from Commander to Modern. The merfolk wizard has an extended-art foil version that is worth between $80 and $100, while its non-foil extended version is only valued at $20. Other booster fun variants are between $10 and $20, and the regular THB version of Thassa’s Oracle is valued around $12.

Underworld Breach

Underworld Breach is an Enchantment in Red that at one time had multiple booster fun versions worth money. The extended-art foil version is worth the most money now, priced around $65 to $75. There is a prerelease foil promo version worth $10, and the regular THB version is valued around $7.

Dryad of the Ilysian Grove

Dryad of Ilysian Grove artwork is known for getting placed in MTG memes and is played in the Modern and Commander formats. The Nymph has an extended-art foil version worth around $48, and a Secret Lair foil version priced around $50. All the other booster fun versions are valued at between $20 and $25. And the regular version of Dryad of the Ilysian Grove is worth around $19.

Heliod, Sun-Crowned

Heliod, Sun-Crowned is most often played in Commander and was one of the best THB Gods in the set. The legendary Enchantment creature has a Showcase foil version valued around $30, along with a foil prerelease promo version, a Secret Lair version, and a planeswalker foil stamp version. Other booster fun versions are worth between $20 and $30, with the regular version of Heliod, Sun-Crowned priced at around $20.
